My screen is covered by a black box, how do I remove this?
This is caused by the Closed Caption/Text mode being set to Text.  You can disable the closed caption by doing the following:
1. Press the Closed Caption button on the remote.
2. Highlight Text by pressing the Channel button.
3. Press the Volume to set the Mode to Off.


My TV gets power but no screen.
1. Make sure all cables are plugged in securely.
2. Make sure the power cord is plugged into the wall outlet or a surge protector.

How do I program my Cable/Satellite remote for the VR-20?
1. Currently, we have a UEI code for Universal remotes manufactured by ONEFORALL and Radio Shack. The UEI code is T0587. The ONEFORALL remotes supported are: URC-9962*, URC-9910*, URC-8910*, URC-8811, URC-8010, URC-8010, and URC-6010. The Radio Shack model supported is 15-2133. (Note: * upgradeable over the phone)

How do I hook up my VR-20 to my Motorola HD Cable Box?
1. Make sure you have the Component Cable running from the Y Pb Pr OUT on the cable box to the Y Pb Pr IN on the back of the VR-20.
2. With the Cable box and VR-20 turned off, Press the Menu button on the front of the cable box.
3. Aspect Ratio should be set to 4:3.
4. Press the Down Arrow until it reads "Y Pb Pr OUT", set the resolution to 1080i by pressing the Right Arrow button.
5. Press the Down Arrow again to set Override to 480P by pressing the Right Arrow button.
6. Press the Menu button to exit.
7. Turn on both VR-20 and Cable Box.
(Note: Override value is the resolution for Non-HD channels. You will notice the VR-20 switch resolutions when toggling from HD to Non-HD channels)


Can the VR-20 be used a Computer Monitor?
1. Yes, the VR-20 can be used as a computer monitor.  It has a native resolution of 640x480 @ 85 Hz refresh rate.  The VR-20 can also display an image at 800x600 @ 85 Hz. 
 
Is the VR-20 VESA Compliant?
1. Yes, the VR-20 is a VESA compliant device with a 75mm hole pattern on the back of the unit.

Can the stand be removed from the VR-20?
1. Yes, there are two (2) screws that hold the stand in the center back of the unit. You can remove those screws with a Philips screwdriver and remove the stand.

Is the VR-20 capable of running an HD resolution of 1080i?
1. Yes, the VR-20 is HD compatible and will display a 720p and 1080i resolution with an external High Definition receiver.

Does the VR-20 have a built-in PAL TV Tuner?
1. The TV tuner that is built into the VR-20 is NTSC (National Television System Committee) only.

Does the VR-20 recognize a PAL video signal?
1. Yes, the VR-20 will recognize a PAL video signal on all inputs except for Air/Cable.

What is the warranty period on my VR-20?
1. The VR-20 has a 1 Year Parts and Labor warranty.

How do I reset the V-Chip password?
1. Set the LCD TV to “Standby” status. (Red LED shown on the side panel)
2. Press CH and CH- keys on the side panel at the same time and don’t release.
3. Press Standby key on the side panel unit after the image or noise displays on the screen.
4. Release the three keys.

VR-30
My screen is covered by a black box, how do I remove this?

Why do I see two inch black bars on both sides of the screen?
1. Make sure your Cable Box is set to 16:9 fit aspect ratio. When a TV program is broadcast in High Definition, the screen will extend in full length. All Non-HD broadcast programs will have the black bars since it was meant to be viewed in a 4:3 fit aspect ratio.

What is the warranty period on my VR-30?
1. The VR-30 has a 1 Year Parts and Labor warranty.

Can I use the VR-30 as a Computer Monitor?
1. No, the 15pin VGA port in the back of the VR-30 is used for Firmware Upgrading Only. A c
omputer video signal will not pass through the port if hooked up to a computer using a VGA cable.

Is the VR-30 VESA Compliant?
1. No, the VR-30 is not a VESA Compliant device. The VR-30 has two key-holes in the back of the unit that are used for hanging on a wall.

Can the base be removed from the VR-30?
1. Yes, there are four (4) screws on the base that can be removed with a Philips Screwdriver. Once the screws are removed, simply slide the base downward away from the unit to remove the base.

1. Select the Settings tab.
2. Click on the Advance button.
3. Click on the Monitor tab.
4. Under Monitor settings, select the preferred refresh rate in the drop down box.

In Windows, right click on the desktop and select Properties.
1. Select the Settings tab.
2. Under Screen Resolution, move bar to desired resolution

In Windows 2K/XP
1. Start up the computer in the Enable VGA Mode. (Press F8 repeatedly until you see the
Windows Advanced Start-Up Menu)
2. Right Click on My Computer, Left click on Properties.
3. Select the Hardware Tab and click on Device Manager.
4. Remove all Monitor drivers listed.
5. Scan for Hardware Changes and make sure the Plug and Play driver is installed.
6. Right Click on the desktop and select Properties.
7. From there, select the Settings tab.
8. Change resolution to optimal setting and apply.
9. Change refresh rate to 60 Hz.


In Windows 98/ME
1. Start up the computer in Safe Mode. (Press F8 repeatedly until you see the Windows Start-Up Menu)
2. Right Click on My Computer, Left click on Properties.
3. Select the Device Manager Tab.
4. Remove all monitor drivers listed under the Monitor category.
5. Right Click on the desktop and select Properties.
6. From there, select the Settings tab.
7. Apply the default settings of 640x480 @ 16 colors.
8. Click on Yes to restart the computer.
9. Keep clicking on “Yes” when Install wizard pops up.
10. Click on Finish to finalize install.
11. Right Click on the desktop and select Properties.
12. From there, select the Settings tab.
13. Change resolution to 1024x768 and apply settings.
14. Click on Yes to restart the computer.
15. Change resolution to optimal setting and apply.
16. Change refresh rate to 60 Hz.

My monitor goes into sleep mode while I’m using it In Windows 2K/XP (or) Windows 98/ME
In Windows 2K/XP
1. Right click on the desktop and select Properties.
2. Select the Screen Saver Tab and click on Power.
3. Set “Turn off Monitor” option to Never and apply setting.


In Windows 98/ME
1. Click on Start, then Settings and click on Control Panel.
2. Double Click on the Power Management icon.
3. Under Power Schemes, set the drop down menu to Always On.

Why does the display on my monitor appear to be missing some colors? (ie. Red, Blue or Green)
1. Inspect the monitor's video cable to make sure it is properly seated into the video card connector and the monitor's input connector. 
2. Inspect the monitor's video cable to make sure none of the pins are bent and it is connected securely to the computer.

Why is the Plug & Play function on my monitor not working?
1. In order for the Plug & Play feature of the monitor to work, you will need a Plug & Play compatible computer and video card. Check with your computer manufacturer to verify that your computer is properly equipped. 
2. Check with your video card manufacturer and make sure to verify that your video card is properly equipped. 
3. Check the monitor's video cable and make sure none of the pins are bent.

What is the maximum resolution my monitor can support?
1. LCD flat panel monitors are optimized for a particular resolution (screen area) and refresh rate.
A. For 15” LCD monitors, the optimal resolution is 1024x768 with 75Hz refresh rate.
B. 17” & 19" LCD monitors have an optimal resolution of 1280x1024 with 75Hz refresh rate. When the optimal settings are used in conjunction with the monitor, the image is visually appealing.
C. 19" Widescreen LCD monitors have an optimal resolution of 1440 x 900

I only have 640x480 resolution with 16 colors, is there a way to fix this?
1. The number of colors and level of resolution are controlled by the video card driver. The monitor drivers simply tell the Operating System (win, mac, linux, etc…) what kind of monitor it is and its safe operating range. You will need to check and possibly reinstall your video card drivers.

There is a slight shadow to the right and a wavy vertical line down the center of the screen. How do I resolve this problem?
1. You probably have an extension cable (NOT THE POWER PLUG) or switch box (KVM) connected between the monitor and the computer. If so, you would need to disconnect the extension cable or switch box and connect the monitor directly to the computer.

I am only able to view 1-2 channels on my TV when connected through direct cable.
In the TV function menu, Media must be set to Cable. After media is set to Cable, an auto scan must be performed.
1. Press the Menu button followed by the Volume button three (3) times.
2. Press the Menu button twice followed by the Volume button to select Cable.
3. Press the Menu button again then the Volume button to select Auto Scan.
4. Once Auto Scan is highlighted, press the Menu button twice to scan all channels.

I am not able to receive any audio from the speakers.
1. Make sure the audio cable is plugged in to the back of the monitor and in to the Green port in the back of the computer.
2. Press the Right Arrow button on the monitor itself and set the volume to 10.
3. Double check your audio settings on your computer and make sure nothing is muted.
